Had my first Three Musketeers bar in years just now. Bleh! I think my palate has fundamentally shifted in the last 20 years. While this crap has become more and more the norm in this country, I've been heading in the other direction. I couldn't even really enjoy it for its nostalgic value (along with Mounds it was one of my favorite candy bars as a kid). Ugh. Almost can't even eat lunch now.
Sometimes tastes shift. I used to hate beer and no one accuses me of beer-hating anymore.
Must be my week for reconnecting with my junk food past. Went out
for greasy spoon Chinese food at lunch yesterday and the place (Wok n
Roll) was so packed that they had to give tickets to people. It was
like the Chinese food lottery. Number 26! Number 26! That's how I got
my lo mein. It ended up being all right but really oily.
Somehow I think it would have been more fun if it really had been a lottery. I could've gotten someone else's sesame chicken.
